Prasthayi, the intelligent humanoid beings that were the first born of Yugae planet were born with pre-fed knowledge. The moment they hatched out of their eggs as fully grown adult beings they knew everything.
They simply got out, started walking, found a suitable place, build homes, made clothes and started living. For the first hundred years some of these twenty thousand beings built massive structures. The buildings and technology that they managed to construct in this very short time would embarrass even the old long running civilizations.
All this was great, still there was one thing missing. The Prasthayi beings were immortals. Their skin cells were capable of absorbing all sorts of radiation to keep them alive. This meant that even though they had fully developed mouth and tongue, they never used it to eat, initially. It might not seam as such a bad thing, but it was.
The sense of taste is perhaps the most important sense to make us feel alive. The pleasure a being derives from eating something tasty is the nicest feeling. Food is the thing that evokes emotion in living beings. So when these Prasthayi beings weren’t eating anything they lacked all sorts of emotion. To put it simply they were alive but not living. There was no purpose to their existence as they simply lived as robots with advanced biology and intelligence.
All of them were like that except for a woman named Anna Puraen. She had very heightened sense, especially the sense of smell and taste. She is the one who taught the Prasthayi people to eat. Up until that point these beings lived alone, disconnected from one another. But developing a sense of taste made them pursue more pleasures of life.
Food is what brought them together, food is what taught them living, food is what taught them emotions, food is what taught them love. Since then, food or more specifically complex food became a part of life for all living beings on the planet. In an ancient text called Annapurna it is mentioned that,
Food might not be what we live for, but it is an essential ingredient to feel alive.
That’s why no matter no matter what differences the different cultures had when they invaded each other, fought each other, destroyed each other. Food is the only thing that got better with time.
