…are Supposed to be the Richest People of the State
Food is the most important basic need of a human being. We can’t understate importance of the role it plays in our survival. As living beings we can live without everything else like clothing, shelter, money but not without food and water.
Yet in the last three centuries of Arsa state, the importance of cultivated food has been reduced to nothing. The Drandt Sul Company during its rule taught us to value a piece of designed paper more than the crops. This made us sink in poverty. The people most affected are the farmers.
There was a time in our great Arsa’s history, before company invasion, when the farmers were one of the richest people of the time. Let’s not forget that king Drupad Vaag was a farmer before he took the throne and yet now farmers are forced to sell their land to earn money.
Let us understand in brief why this happened. When company came to our land to initiate trade, many centuries ago, the thing they needed the most was food. The land where the company people came from were not as fertile as ours. A lot of people used to die from hunger there.
On contrary, we were blessed with rich fertile soil. In those times everyone was a farmer. Big or small we all grew food in our backyard. Each of our produce was unique and the only way to exchange them was through barter. No coin of that time met with value of food. This was a problem for the company as they couldn’t afford buying food from us.
When they came they started selling services in exchange for food. They introduced a piece of paper calling it a promissory note. They seduced us with their advance technology so much so that many people gave up farming to build and work in factories setup by them.
Things were beneficial for both parties initially. But with passing time the value of that paper increased. They manipulated us into believing that paper equals to wealth. Which is not true.
Not only that, their factories polluted our lands and waters. They destroyed our teachings, our beliefs and our traditions. One of the things that made Arsa once great was agriculture. But once this profession started dying Arsa started to die as well. Nowadays farmers are committing suicide. This is unacceptable.
The free Arsa state government wants to reinstate the greatness of our land. We are going to do that by increasing the importance of agriculture and its produce.
As per one of the initiatives of the free government, we will be introducing a program called Pakvaan. In it the food prices will gradually rise in the following years irrespective of supply and demand. This is with intention to discourage buying food items and cultivating yourself in the backyard, at least enough to satisfy your daily need.
Our hope is that as this practice increases people will stop buying edible items. This will result in a drop in demand. The farmers who gained riches with initial price hike will have to reinvest their money into some other sector as well. Farmers then will have to sell off their excess land owned in order to evenly distribute it among everyone.
This will have a negative effect on the restaurants, processed & packed food industry. That is intentional in order to encourage the population to eat fresh food that will be primarily home grown.
These production factories that pollute the environment will be shut down, demolished and reused for some other eco-friendly purpose.
This is also an attempt to re-introduce interhouse barter system. We know that as human being we hate change. But this change is necessary. We aim to achieve stabilization in this system in the next two decades, i.e. by the year 1952.
No farmer needs to end their life just because they don’t get the value for their efforts.
