Myth of Gweillor

What is the routine life of a God like?

Just think about it. There is this person who has everything, can create anything and live like that for as long as he/she/it wants (since the God of Rexal World is a male, henceforth I’ll use the word ‘he’). Having said this the question that arises is, how does he live?

After many eons of thrilling adventures, living as rich avatars and experiencing apocalyptic scenarios at some point the God must be getting tired of such active life. Eventually all Gods choose to lead a simple blissful life.

In this story the God has settled down in a peaceful place to live as a simple farmer with his small family; no wife, four daughters and one son who is just like him. This story is not of the father. It is of the son, Gweil.

Gweil is just a little kid who is enthusiastic about life. He was recently taught how to take care of the farm and so the God has let him plant his first seed.

“This will teach you the art and responsibility of creation.” says God.

This God has built many miraculous things in his universe. Stars, planets, amazing creatures and beings with immeasurable power. Even his four daughters are gifted with an ability to manipulate one of the four basic elements of nature each.

Meanwhile Gweil is just a simple kid with no powers whatsoever. Still he considers him his greatest creation. Perhaps that is why the God has made him in his own image.

“Why do I not have any powers like my sisters? Father?” asks Gweil.

“That’s because you are destined to be more than that.” the father replies.

“More, what do you mean?”

“One day you will be just like me…” Says the father. “…and be the God for all creation.”

“Really?! When?”, the boy asks.

“Soon… But first you have a lot to learn.” says the father. Suddenly his eyes moisten. It’s as if he knows what is going to happen to Gweil and it is not good.

Living a simple life on a small planet suits the father-son duo. There are a lot of scary things out there but the father will obviously protect Gweil with all his divine omni powers. Even from the jealous goddesses in the sky whom Gweil calls, “Sisters.”

These elemental goddesses are perfect, beautiful and intelligent women, identical quadruplets with singular difference of the hair colour to match their material bending ability; grey for air, red for fire, brown for earth and blue for water. Together they have the ability to build anything, just like their father. Unfortunately they use their energies to build a prison for their brother.

It is no secret that the God loves his son and cares for him the most. Maybe because Gweil is a little boy who can’t take care of himself yet. That is why even though not intentionally, the God ignores the achievements of his daughters who were created as fully grown intelligent independent beings from the start.

Just a few days ago these four women returned after building a solar system. The God heard the news and acknowledged it with just a simple, “Okay.” In that same moment he showered Gweil with compliments for successfully growing his first plant. This didn’t go well with the sisters.

One afternoon these women call Gweil to their sky palace.

“Come up. It’s been so long since we last played together.” Says one.

“Yeah! It will be fun.” says another.

This afternoon Gweil is alone and is simply watching his plant grow. That’s when his sisters call him. They then drop a long magical rope from the sky.

Excited Gweil starts climbing it. On his way he continues his chat with his sister, talking about the times they played together. “How fun it was to travel to nearby planet and to design a planet to support complex intelligent life, wasn’t it?” They watched from the sky as the civilizations grew.

“I wonder how that species is doing right now.” says Gweil while climbing the rope. “Maybe we can go see them.”

“Sure.” said one of his sisters. Little does he know about their sinister plan. When Gweil reaches the top he finds no one there. The throne where four of them sit are empty.

“Sis? Where are you guys. I’m here, in your throne room.”

It’s a beautiful open space on a cloud with an overlooking view of the green grassland below. There are four rocky chairs with each marked by an elemental symbol.

“Hello! Anybody? Stop scaring me. Come out quick. I didn’t tell our father, he might get worried seeing me not home.”

“We are very sorry.” say all four of them together.

Their jealousy for their brother has consumed them.

“Father gives you too much attention.”

“He doesn’t care whatever we do.”

“Why create us, call us daughters if you are going to give us a substandard treatment.”

“He loves only you.”

“This is wrong.”

“So… you can no longer be in our life.”

Gweil is confused. He doesn’t know how to react. But before he can say anything suddenly the throne room starts to disappear. In just a few seconds Gweil finds himself in a white endless abyss.

It’s bright white light all around but he sees nothing. This place has no boundaries. An endless space with no sense of time. Soon Gweil realizes that his sisters have put him in an eternal unbreakable prison.

Knowing that Gweil does the only thing he can, he cries for help. He shouts, he screams and begs his father to come rescue him.

Meanwhile back on ground the father sees Gweil’s plant left alone. It’s a very unusual thing for Gweil to do. He realizes what just happen while saying, “I guess, now is that time.” His eyes moisten again as he speaks looking at the plant,

“I cannot save you from this,
For that, son, I’m sorry,
You have to learn your purpose,
That’s why this is necessary.”
