Keshu, Keshav Vago, is a simple local tailor of Vanchi city who is burdened by the loads of debt taken by his late father; figuratively and literally as he always walks with a hunchback. His earnings are so low that he feels it will take an entire lifetime to payback the money he owes. Also, it is this fear that if he fails the burden of debt will eventually fall on his children, Keshu decided to never get married at a very young age.
For the majority portion of his life, Keshu is a single guy who laughs through the pains of his life. Keshu lost his parents at a very early age. One tragic accident turned his eyesight blurry. Further, he might not be the best at this tailoring job but this his what pays the bills and the daily quota of local alcohol that he uses to drown all his sorrows with.
Keshu is inherently a funny guy but according to most people in the locality, they usually laugh at him and not with him. They deduce him to be a dumb person based on his crazy unnatural behavior although the truth of his intelligence is far from what is perceived.
Keshu’s one life goal is to die as a debt-free man and this is what he strives to achieve.

This is his legal official name but rarely do people know him by that.
Keshu bhai/bhau (brother)
Keshu had no plans of getting married so he always addressed every woman he met as ‘sister’. Hence by default he got the word ‘brother’ attached to his name. Everyone calls him that irrespective of the other person’s age.

Keshu didn’t really know his father except for the huge debt he left behind to pay back to the people of the community he lived in. Even then he was never angry at him because he is the one who left behind a place for Keshu to live after his passing.
Shitladevi Vago (mother)
Keshu’s mother took care of him when he was growing up. Since they couldn’t afford basic education, Keshu learned all things he could from his tailor mother. After seeing her husband’s life ruined by alcohol she took a promise from Keshu to never drink but the day she died, Keshu was driven to grab a bottle of booze and since then alcohol never left his digestive system.
