Meaning of Love

Younger was I then and lighter was my brain,
With parents I was, travelling in a Train.
Movies and Cartoons were all, that were on my mind,
Who cared at that time, if true love I would find.

Looked outside the window, as trees, farms, lakes passed,
Appreciating it, is all I could do, as train was bit fast.
Not until later, I noticed, across me seated a ‘Girl’,
As naive I was back then, didn’t knew value of a Perl.

A favorite song of mine, I sang, “One-two,three..”
Surprising me, the lines got repeated, as sang she.
Didn’t acknowledge her presence, nor did ask her, “Your name?”,
As childish we were, just sat and played a silly game.

Connected we were, as sunset followed the night,
I slept and then woke-up, first searched her my sight.
Disappointed I was, to see the opposite bunk empty.
“Where did they go, it’s early as five-twenty!”

Had I been bit older, would have ask her name, address, number…
Had I knew she will go, would have skipped midnight slumber.
But the opportunity is gone, as present became past,
Few moments of yesterday, is all that will last.
I have forgotten her voice, her face, as of now,
Just the feeling that has remained, is the meaning of love.
