As a child Chirag was fascinated by the concept of time. This started when his uncle who is also a scientist gave him a flip-book as a birthday gift. When handing it to him he threw an idea that time is actually an illusion and what we see as life is just series of pictures. If you want you can take them apart and arrange in any possible way. Chirag’s uncle didn’t think Chirag would understand any of it, but he did. Not only that, he was obsessed with time. He wanted to understand time. This curiosity motivated him to get into physics.
For a while he dedicated his life of theoretical physics studying time while being a part-time lecturer at a university. But a decade of dedication later he found himself at a dead-end. His wife, recommended a book about time travel. Chirag was not much into fiction yet his wife literally forced him to read it. This opened Chirag’s eyes. He realized that to further his knowledge regarding time, he has to take a dive in fiction. He made his first short film based on the same book. Since then he has become a successful film maker who loves making science-fiction films.
Chirag is one of those film makers who is not swayed by public opinion. He takes creative decisions based on what feels right to him. In his own words,
“I don’t make films to entertain you. I want you to feel emotions. Sometimes you will feel happy, sometimes sad and sometimes angry. That’s okay.”
“I can’t make everyone happy. I tell stories that I like and hope that at least some people share the same feeling.”
