THE DENUCLIFIER GEL
In the early 21st century, almost every state on Yugae has armed itself with nuclear warheads. There is an ongoing race as to which state owns the highest number of nuclear weapons. At present Payeria state is winning that to by a significantly large number.
The combined nuclear power owned by all states is sufficient to completely destroy the entire planet ten times. Despite that all the states are busy building their nuclear arsenal.
Although there is one state that takes pride in saying, “We have zero nuclear warheads.” That place is none other than the Arsa state. They can take risk of being nuclear free in the ever unstable world because, one, Arsa is an island, separate and far away from the mainland and second because of a chemical called ‘Avalum – the Denuclifier gel’.
Denuclifier gel is an invention of the scientists of Arsa state. It’s a chemical gel that, after making contact with a deployed nuclear warhead, can neutralize it preventing the explosion from happening.
In its initial form its a dark green liquid encased in an airtight corrosion proof container. If a nuclear warhead approaches, this liquid container will be shot towards the missile. Once it makes contact, the outside weaker shell breaks releasing the chemical.
The chemical works in a three step process:
- This chemical once exposed to air immediately starts a chemical reaction forming a thick viscous corrosive fluid. This fluid can eat through any metal which could be the exterior shell and electronic circuits (if any). This will prevent the nuclear fission from being triggered.
- The gel formation is an endothermic process. So it will absorb all the heat generated forming a thick layer of ice around the warhead.
- Finally, the gel formed is capable of absorbing all the free electrons breaking the chain reaction of nuclear fission eventually neutralizing the threat.
The formula for this Denuclifier compound is a close kept secret by the Arsa state except for a fact that one of the raw materials for the production of this chemical comes from the tree trunk of the medicinal plant Avaleni.
This invention was very much necessary due to the ever rising global nuclear threat. Fortunately the scientists of Arsa were able to come up with this product. Maybe because they weren’t busy researching on making bigger and more powerful weapons.
They simply stick to the motto of the R&D department of Arsa Defense Force, that is,
Always build an extinguisher before starting a fire.
