Understanding Dream is very difficult. This is one of the mysteries of life. Questions like “Why do we dream?” and “What are dreams?” and “How dreams are different from reality?”, seem unanswerable.
Consider this
How do we know that the world around us is REAL?
At any moment we know the world is real because it satisfies all our senses: sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste. Not only that, in the real world our every action has a reaction. Here we have the power to make changes in the world but at the same time the world has the power to make changes in us. If all this is possible in that moment then the world is real.
How do we know that the world around us is a DREAM?
Usually we don’t. The dream sufficiently satisfies all our senses to trick us into believing that we are in the real world. The process of action-reaction happens just like in the real world. At times the events might defy the laws of nature, still in that moment we believe it is true. The only time we learn that we were in a dream is when it ends.
So, how do we know that the life we live is not one long continuous detailed dream? Maybe it is but we won’t know that for sure until life ends. I myself sometimes think that I am a creation result of my future self telling a story in the far future.
My point is, If we accept the fact that nothing is real, this makes everything that we experience equally real, including the dreams.
EXAMPLE
Let’s take the story ‘That One Blurry Memory’ for example,
A successful politician named Arav Silhi has a reoccurring nightmare that he is dying. So to get clarity of the situation he visits his psychiatrist. But during the session the Doctor twists the situation creating a confusion.
Arav by the end gets confused as to which of the two scenes is really real. In one of them he is living a perfect happy life and in another he is dying.
If Arav is to ask “Which of the two is real?”
My answer would, “Both.” because…
“In Rexal World, dreams are doorways to the alternate realities, to experience events that have happened for real but in different dimensions of the vast Rexal multiverse.”
