Nriman and Zaman

A very very long time ago when the universe was just born the space was opaque full of all sorts of energies. This phase was called Shuarthoomi. While to an inferior mortal mind it might appear as if nothing was happening here, the truth is that very important things were happening here.

It was the time when the nature (universe itself) was defining its rules that would be essential for all creation that follows. These rules were formulated based on the countless stories of the divine immortal beings living mortal lives. One of those stories was of twins named Nriman and Zaman. Their story went something like this.

Both these twins possessed infinite potential and were capable of doing anything they could think of. There was one problem though. Being twins they were equally matched and hence there was comparison. This led them to ask their mother,

“Who is the better son?”

And for her to judge they kept performing tasks to prove their superiority over each other. They went to such an extreme that it killed their mother in this process. When their father found out, he shouted, yelled and finally gave them a curse that they would not know of each other’s existence ever. This led to them living a life where they weren’t aware of existence of a twin brother. Their father Parav ensured it. His last words were,

“If you two ever end up meeting one of you two will be surely erased from existence.”

This was the end of their story. But you see Nriman and Zaman are divine immortal beings. The story they once experienced as a mortals is now being played on a planetary level. That is Nriman became planet Nriva while Zaman became planet Zagaic. Each housing complex intelligent life. But they are hidden, forever eclipsed from each other by their parent star Parav.

Eventually what matters is the story. Nriman and Zaman had a story. It ended but one rule of the universe is that history repeats itself. This time in a different form. Even today they compete, travelling in the same orbit trying to outrun each other without knowing the other’s existence.

Also the complex life on their respective planets are at conflict as well, conflict of faith. While people of Nriva support Svadyaan (science), people of Zagaic support Pardyaan (magic).

In a way neither of them are wrong as these are just two sides of the same coin. What changes is their perspective of looking at things (glass half full or half empty). But just like their planets, the people are stubborn.

What can we do? And so the debate goes on for eternity, the same way Nriman and Zaman once competed to prove their superiority.
