Why do we need Science to support Storytelling?

This is sort of an answer to the follow up ‘why?’ to the original question Why do we need Science?

Honestly I don’t know how this applies to the real world, but I can surely talk about my rexal world.

When I first created this fictional world of mine. I compared it with the pixels of a TV screen. Just as in the movies how we can show whatever the story requires logical or illogical, for my rexal world I said that everything I say is possible.

So long as these stories are for my leisure time read, its okay. But the moment I start writing stories for entertainment of other people, I have to make it such that it seems logic.

Consider this story universe to be like a roller coaster ride, the visitors won’t sit in the ride unless they are confident about the safety systems in place. Similarly if I want other people to experience the stories I have written I have to convince them that if not possible at least they are logical.

Sure the fantasy stories will remain the same, but I need a work around explanation for what that even happen the way in happened. So here what I am doing is I am creating science to support my stories.

This is why I think that science in our world exists. To make the reality that we live in more believable.
