Shrantigaon is a beautiful small mountain plateaued on the top. At the base is a perennial ring shaped lake that serves as prime source of water supply for the residents. The slopes on all sides is covered with dense diverse forest. All the trees there have some food or medicinal purpose since they were artificially planted many centuries ago. The top is a grassland where all the people live.
The wood/clay built houses and farms are scattered all around the place. In addition to that there are public structures in the central area. The main gathering place called ‘Kendrin’. The library for all the stored knowledge of the village called ‘Mahit‘. The library has attached schooling space ‘Pathshala’. Other than that the plateau is a vast empty space for people to wander around on foot.
Shrantigaon has more or less stayed the same for as long as it existed. After all, there is a reason why this place is called the ‘heaven of Yugae’ or ‘the land of eternal bliss’. Why would anybody want to change a place that already exists in its ideal form?
Having said that there are visible minor changes based on the stage of evolution the people Shrantigaon are in the 20th century. The past few centuries weren’t peaceful times. While the natives of the island of Arsa have always stayed friendly. There have been invaders who attempted to capture Shrantigaon several times. Latest in the line is the evil organisation called the Drandt Sul Company. Hence the defenses are up in Shrantigaon.
Kendrin is the place located at the very center of the settlement. Here all the people of village gather for any important meeting that requires everybody’s attention. It is placed in the center because in case of an emergency all have travel equal amount of the distance to be a part of the meeting.
Mahit is the library of the village. It is here where all the written texts of the village are kept including Divyakatha (the holy text of the people). It is situated on the highest point of the mountain where there is a cave like rocky structure. In addition to that it has an extended open space for schooling.
